OPEN LETTER TO

MY FELLOW AMERICAN'S

My Fellow American’s now more than ever the time has come to evaluate the Republican Candidate for President and the GOP.

As time passes, we are learning more about the candidates for the Republican nomination. We are learning where they stand on the issues that face this nation. I’am learning some candidates hold positions on issues that cause me concern and I wonder, do you feel the same?

As a Reagan Republican, I’am looking for someone who is a true conservative, a leader that speaks the truth whatever the cost, and someone who understands the dangers America faces. I’am looking for someone who has shown he can win over Independents and Conservative Democrats. I’am looking for someone that adheres to the Reagan philosophy on all issues.

Now more than ever in this day and time we the people are responsible for the character of our Government. If that Government body is ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, which it is, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If our Government is intelligent, brave, and moral, it is because the people demand high standards of our representatives in the national legislature. So, I ask you, what is it that you demand?

From within the current candidates vying for the GOP nomination, I have not found a candidate that holds these high standards and I would like to suggest you take a look at why we do not have a true conservative candidate. I’am not a high-powered campaign operative; I’am just a regular guy who’s a Reagan conservative. Let me share some information why we don't have a true conservative candidate.

Today, it seems some have forgotten our beginnings. Instead of Americans with a shared vision, we have become a nation divided. We have become a nation of individuals and groups, each with a special interest vision, often without thought for what is best for the nation. We are, however, a nation that at one time had an immutable vision for all. At this point we do not have a candidate that has the right vision for the nation, a vision that includes all people and same vision that our Founding Fathers held for this nation.

Years and Years of Inaction and Stone Walling By the GOP :

Ever since President Ronald Reagan departed from Washington, there has been no candidate capable of effectively employing the first strategy (true conservatism). The results have been many years of policy inaction, fiddling while Washington burns.

The GOP establishment perceives the entire nation moving leftwards, and a long time ago made the decision to move the GOP to the left in order to keep in step with the culture at large. George Bush was the first of the “new breed” of GOP establishment characters to achieve the White House, with his doctrine of “compassionate” (liberal) conservatism. And it seemed to work. At least, it kept him in the White House for two terms, if only with razor thin wins each time.

Ideologically, enough Republicans are still with Reagan that they can't stomach compromise, political bull shit from the GOP, no candidate has been able to rally enough support to create momentum for conservative policies. So nothing happens thanks to the power brokers of the GOP and the RNC.

Conservatives now have a decision to make, though months before they have to make it. That decision: Is it better to lose the White House to the Democrats than have Mc Cain become president of the United States and leader of the Republican Party and the nation?

Many have already made that decision: Better, they argue, to lose to Hillary or Oboma than win with Mc Cain. Better to be principled than pragmatic. As John F. Kennedy once said, “Sometimes party loyalty asks too much.”

The issue is simply, “Does Mc Cain deserve the support of conservatives?” the answer would be simple and emphatic: No. Indeed, John Mc Cain has fully earned the repudiation he received in the Arizona primary and more just on his record.

However, there is a question other than whether Mc Cain deserves the support of the right, and it is this: Would it better serve the causes in which conservatives believe to have Mc Cain in the White House or to have Clinton or Obama there?

Getting The GOP Attention Immigration Bill

So imagine the shock of the GOP establishment when the single biggest building block of their “new GOP liberal/moderate coalition” was dealt a shattering blow by the defeat of their attempt to legalize, via amnesty, the status of some ten-twenty million illegal Hispanic aliens currently residing in the U.S.

Suddenly, staring them right in the face, the GOP saw the ruination of all their carefully constructed plans, and with that, a concomitant loss of power! And how in the hell or what was the cause?

Those damned barbarian Reagan conservatives, who don’t understand that principles, don’t win elections, nor are elections about anything other than who gets to exercise power. Rabble! Principled fools!

And so the battle lines were drawn in the sand for real.

The GOP, the RNC and their mouthpieces in the conservative media have alternately argued that John Mc Cain is a upstanding conservatives worthy of support.

John Mc Cain is the standard bearer for the GOP NOT the conservatives. The establishment GOP machine is one hundred percent behind him. Opposed to him is the conservative coalition of talkers and bloggers and their consumers - it is a battle between the media and ideological assets of both sides.

As for me I will not have the GOP nor RNC shove there form of “compassionate” (liberal/moderate) conservatism BS down my throat ever again.

The Death of the GOP and the Birth of a New Political Party

Alexander J. Madison – January 29, 2008 said:

"There are plenty of other 3rd parties in existence, but none that adhere to the unparalleled wisdom of what our Founders laid out in the constitution, coupled with the policies that, in times past, made the GOP great:  The party of life, liberty, limited government, sovereignty, low taxes, and military might.

In forming a new party, I have no intention of creating a refuge for fringe thinkers, disgruntled defeatists, vengeful has-bens, or self pitying 'victims'.  This will be the party of fearlessness and bold ideas for the future; but one consistently anchored in the wisdom of the ages, the understanding of man's nature, and the constraints of our founding documents.  We will draw inspiration and ideas and self discipline from sources both ancient and new:  from Plato, St. Augustine, Charlemagne and Da Vinci to Edmund Burke, Adam Smith, and Ben Franklin to Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman, Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan, and many others".

Respectfully,

Russell M. Scott
